Jersey Rankings: NFL Color Rush

When the NFL unveiled their “Color Rush” uniforms for the 2015 season I thought the idea of two teams wearing single color matching jerseys and pants was a cool idea. The Christmas themed Bills and Jets game was great. The ketchup vs mustard Buccaneers and Rams match-up an instant classic.Of course , it would have been better for me had Tampa Bay won the game, but no use dwelling on the past when we can rank it!So, I’m going to throw my best and worst Color Rush Jerseys of all time at you, and just like I’m sure some of you hated the Christmas colors or the hot dog condiments (sorry, Chicago) I look forward to reading your thoughts on these classic – and not so classic - uniform creations.THE WORSTNo. 52017 Carolina PanthersYou know what screams creativity? Wearing a jersey your franchise has already worn in the past and turning the pants the same color! If DeAngelo Williams wore the same style of jersey back when he was a Panthers running back then this isn’t new. Claiming it was part of a ‘new’ style in 2015 and then copy/pasting two more times also doesn’t make it new.Not impressed. No. 42017 Green Bay PackersI’m not saying they should have gone all yellow here, and I understand all green causes issues for those with red-green color blindness.Still, the all-white uniforms just don’t scream Packers to me.No. 32016 Seattle SeahawksPerhaps trying to make up for the problem those with color blindness experienced with previous versions, the Seahawks decided to mount a full-blown assault on those fortunate enough not to suffer from such an affliction. For you veterans out there: This is what happens when one football player gets hit by a golf cart stepping on to the field. If one Seahawks player gets overly dehydrated, Nike is stitching Camel Backs into the 2018 version. Just you watch. No. 22015 Tennessee TitansNice color of blue. Especially with that red accent. Not Houston Oilers. No. 12015 Jacksonville JaguarsPhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesWhat a disgusting color of yellow. Or Gold. Not sure what they were going for here. It’s like someone painted this and started trying to use the same color the Saints used for their numbers and then at the last minute decided to mix it with Rams yellow.Like, it’s the color of indecision, or bad decisions. And seeing it on Blake Bortles just —- Oh! I see what you did there Gerald McCoy Jersey , Nike. Bravo. THE BESTNo. 52016 Dallas CowboysThey aren’t really all one color considering the shoulder edging is blue, and it definitely resembles the older uniforms from the early days of the Dallas Cowboys.Still, it’s modern and new enough to count and the clean look gives it a clean finish when capped off with the classic silver lid. No. 42015 Tampa Bay BuccaneersOf course, this is the only color rush jersey in my closet, but it comes in as fourth best on my list. The all red is solid and the reflective numbers don’t look as bad as they do on the current uniform when worn in contrast to this uniform. It’s a strong showing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is one of the few uniforms in the series which justifies it’s three-peat performance. No. 32016 Pittsburgh SteelersClassic black and yellow won’t ever be wrong. The two colors just mix so well together. However, in this case the jerseys had the choice of going with more black or more yellow.Who would have thought such a simple thing as filling in white with yellow would look so good. No. 22016 Cincinnati BengalsThe only thing that could make these uniforms look bad is seeing Chris Baker dancing in them. For the Bengals, all white with black stripes is a little weird at first, but it’s just enough creativity while staying close to home to make it work.No. 12016 Denver BroncosPhoto by Sean M. Haffey/Getty ImagesA little bit of new with a little bit of old. Those orange jerseys and uniforms with the throwback helmet which isn’t quite the same color so it’s still new while being old. Man!By far my favorite uniform combination. I’m a sucker for throwback helmets, and the hint of newness to them just takes it over the top. Alright folks, there’s my worst five and my best five. In 2018 the teams won’t be forced to wear their color rush jerseys but reportedly have the option to do so as an alternate uniform option.Which teams do you want to see bring theirs back for another trip to the field, and which ones should be trashed?Of course Authentic Jameis Winston Jersey , we’ve got the ever-popular fan edits which float around each year, so which of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform alterations have you seen and like?Bucs HC Dirk Koetter dancing around preseason injury reports Every pre-season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and all of the other 31 NFL franchises go through a dance of sorts with each other and the media. And it’s all centered around injuries, or the lack thereof.Left tackle Donovan Smith hobbled off the practice field recently. Second year safety Justin Evans was carted off. Like, couldn’t walk off under his own power. The reports are minimal. Smith could miss the season opener, but he might not. Evans is…ok? We think. He likely won’t play anymore in the pre-season, right? Or maybe he will. Nobody really knows. Not until right before the game. Why is that? Well, for multiple reasons.First, they don’t have to. Let’s be real for a minute. A lot of these players and coaches don’t talk to the media because they want to, they have to. The NFL mandates it. Marshawn Lynch is partially famous for his upfront disdain of the policies surrounding media interaction. So, anytime a player or coach has a reason not to answer a question, they’re likely going to take it. For example Youth Demar Dotson Jersey , when coach Koetter was asked about injuries following the practice Smith and Evans both got wounded in, his reply was,“What else? Guys I can’t talk about injuries alright. You can ask me every day but I can’t tell you. You’re just wasting time.”Now, in the immediate sense, he was talking about discussing injuries right after practice. He’s on the practice field, not in the medical room. Could he possibly have some information or updates? Maybe. But it’s more likely he’s been busy ensuring his players and coaching staff have been on task and will get updates on injuries during afternoon meetings.Don’t blame anyone there for at least asking, but there’s a reason Koetter doesn’t know. He was working. The final reason this time of year causes so much heartburn trying to get injury information? Again, they don’t have to, for a second time.According to the NFL’s Personnel (Injury) Report Policy, Regular and post. Not pre. Simple, right?A lot of fun was made about coach Louie Smith saying the Buccaneers were “Tennessee Ready” ahead of their 2015 regular season opener against Marcus Mariota and the Titans. It turned out , they weren’t.However, it doesn’t mean they weren’t preparing for them well ahead of seeing them. And you can bet Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints are paying attention to how Ryan Fitzpatrick is leading the offense, which running back is doing well, how is the pass rush improving, etc. So, if they’re paying attention to those things then every drop of injury information gets the Saints just a little closer to being prepared for when Tampa Bay invades the bayou to start the 2018 regular season. Why is Koetter being so evasive with his injury answers? Because he can and should.
