I'm loving this now I've got it up and running a couple of places

..though, do you have any hints on how I can get the registration confirmation emails to use the correct domain name in the reply link?

I'm reading through django and the site framework and SITE_ID.. but am currently confused..!

confirmation - "problem" of django-registration, is used SITE_ID
u chenged it from admin panel? SITE_ID in settings == site ID , defined in admin panel?
